The 49th General Assembly was called to order Tuesday evening, June 21. In attendance were 1,634 teaching elders and 751 ruling elders, for a total of 2,385 commissioners. A summary of the Assembly actions of Wednesday, June 22.
At its meeting today the PCA Administrative Committee (AC) has affirmed its plan for our General Assembly (GA) to meet June 28-July 2 in St. Louis.
Plan remains for June 2021 meeting, with contingencies if necessary.
The PCA Administrative Committee is providing a way for churches and members to read progress reports from PCA ministries and engage with resources from previous General Assemblies.
The Administrative Committee approved a recommendation to postpone the General Assembly scheduled to meet in Birmingham on June 15-19, 2020.
While expressing appreciation for other faithful independent seminaries, he said the seminary highly values its unique official connection with the denomination.
While it is assumed that the leadership and members of this congregation will play a role in observing the elder and providing feedback to the presbytery (“court”) that will make the decision to remove the censure or not, drafters of the overture believe congregation’s role is not clearly laid out in the current language.
Members of the committee will present their findings, conclusions, and recommendations at General Assembly. Their presentation will be Thursday morning, June 14, at 8 a.m.
