How far should we go to make ourselves better?

How one church is breaking down barriers with violins, violas, and cellos. But why? What’s in it for the church? And are there strings attached?

The ministry we witnessed and briefly shared in Nairobi, Kenya was strong and Word-centered. The Word is primary, because through the Word, by the power of the Spirit, comes the gospel – all the good news of cleansing which the inhabitants of Kibera so desperately need.

For too long, the Church has seen Hollywood as a modern-day Nineveh, and hoped for its destruction. It’s time to engage, to be at the forefront of creating songs, novels, and films that inspire our nation, and ultimately our world.

Richard Dawkins and the New Atheists present a major challenge to the Church. But the Church has been given an opportunity to retool, regroup, and reclaim the truth of the gospel, speaking it into the void.
