Morton Smith: 1923-2017

Perhaps most notably, Dr. Smith was a leading voice in the founding of the Presbyterian Church in America, and he served as the denomination’s first Stated Clerk. His final working years were spent as a professor and dean at the Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, 1987-2012.

Trinity Presbyterian Church in Charlottesville has joined with other churches in the area to publicly denounce racism and pray for healing and restoration in the city that was the site of racist protests, counter-protests, and violence on August 12.
