No doctrinal dispute has ever been contested more fiercely or with such long-term consequences as the one over justification. There were other ancillary issues debated in the 16th century, but none so central or so heated as this.

Jesus not only paid for our sin, he provides his righteousness for us.

A heart tied to God’s heart resonates with his love; a heart that does not cannot claim to know God.

There’s been a lot of discussion in the last year (and the last week) of what it means to be winsomely reformed. And, sadly, the loudest voices have been undeniably against the idea of being winsome. It has been critiqued as wishy-washy, a failed cultural strategy, or as an expression of weakness rather than strength….

In God’s great wisdom and love, he chose our spouse, out of all the persons in the world, to be the one to help us become the person he intends.

An act so gentle, a little whisper of the assurance of God’s care, powerfully rekindled faith, hope, and the willingness to move forward into God’s future. 

We shouldn’t expect God to bring a few sons to glory or some sons to glory. We should expect him to bring many.

God made a pagan king a member of heaven’s family by grace alone. We, too, become members of God’s family by faith in his grace alone.

The Session is recommending that the congregation vote to withdraw from the PCA.

Jesus could certainly speak with boldness, but his goal was to make the gospel plain. God’s truth without his gracious intent is not his will.
