Arguing over controversial issues in new media exposes and amplifies what may be the greatest difficulty facing Christians in this phase of American cultural conflict: loving each other.

In addition to the recommendation on Overture 45, the Overtures Committee made recommendations on the six more overtures today.

The Overtures Committee voted to affirm an amended version of Overture 45. The overture will now go to the General Assembly for final approval.

The overture creates the option for commission members to file concurring or dissenting reports with a commission judgment. If one third of the commissioners submit a dissenting report within the specified timeframe, it will be considered a minority report and submitted to the presbytery.
