Every year, churches are invited to submit their statistics to the office of the Administrative Committee. The metrics in this report are based on the data voluntarily submitted by churches to reflect their 2025 statistics. Churches are not required to submit statistical data, and the data submitted is not audited for accuracy. 

Attendance is a statistical category distinct from membership. The average attendance at a church is normally less than the size of its membership. For example, a church may have 500 members, while its attendance is 350. 

However, there are over 100 churches in the denomination where the attendance exceeds the membership. This variance can be attributed to a number of factors. A church may be situated in a college town, for example, or a community with an abnormally large number of part-time residents. 

Below are the 50 PCA churches with the highest average attendance.  Many of these churches are also among the PCA’s 50 largest churches by membership. Here are a few observations:

1. The list includes churches from 19 different states, including a few states outside the denomination’s traditional footprint, such as New York, California, Colorado, and Illinois. 
2. Florida is the state with the most churches on the list with eight churches; Tennessee follows with six churches. 
3. Birmingham is the single city most represented on this list with four congregations, all located within a six-mile radius. 
4. The combined attendance of these churches represents approximately 25% of the average Sunday attendance reported across all congregations in the PCA.
