(From Reformed Theological Seminary) With sadness in our hearts, but with great praise and thanks to God for his life and ministry in our lives, we want to inform you that Dr. J. Knox Chamblin, 76, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, from leukemia, and entered into the presence of our Lord.

Dr. Eric Miller to present guest lectures at Covenant College. Lectures will explore the role of public intellectuals in American history and American life.

Grace Presbyterian Church hopes to relocate to the Dime Store Days building at 109 E. Sixth St. by August, although the church’s pastor said that may be an overly optimistic goal.

The Rev. Reddit Andrews, senior pastor of Soaring Oaks Presbyterian Church in Elk Grove, Calif., has been appointed to the faculty of Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Miss, as assistant professor of practical theology by the RTS Board of Trustees.

On January 17, a diverse group of about 50 PCA ministers came together in Atlanta for a five-hour Meeting of Understanding to discuss the present challenges of ministry and fellowship within our Church family. Afterwards, byfaithonline.com reported on that meeting. A number of people have expressed interest in knowing more about the get-together. I am glad to have this means of setting that gathering into context and to give additional information while honoring the spirit of the meeting.

On January 17, 2012, a “Meeting of Understanding” was held in which 50 invited pastors discussed issues of unity and charity in the PCA. In descriptions of this event, it was inevitable that comparisons to marriage would be made.

I’ve been appreciative over the years of RTS’ effort to recruit and prepare more African American men for the pastorate.
