For the second time in the PCA’s history, the General Assembly is headed to Orlando, Florida. The 56th Assembly will take place June 25-29, 2029, at the Caribe Royale Resort.

Angela Nantz, the PCA Administrative Committee’s meeting planner, said the AC hopes the 2029 Assembly will prove popular as the meeting space, hotel rooms, and family-friendly activities will all be available within the same property.

Orlando previously hosted the General Assembly in 2009, when the meetings were held at a Disney convention property.

“As we pray and look for cities and spaces to host General Assembly, Orlando offers a major airport in the state with the largest number of PCA churches,” Nantz said. “We have been trying to get back in Florida for some time. We want to showcase the breadth of the PCA, and that means both going to new places like Milwaukee, and visiting places well established to the PCA like Orlando. The Caribe Royale Resort offers the increasingly limited opportunity to be almost entirely under one roof, something frequently requested but difficult to find.”

The AC estimates that as many as 4,500 people attend each Assembly, including commissioners, visitors, families, and exhibitors. Each year, the AC staff must find a location that can accommodate gathering space and lodging needs for the Assembly while being conscious of budget concerns for commissioners and churches.

Hosting the General Assembly also requires on-site support from the hosting presbytery. Central Florida Presbytery will plan and execute the worship services, plan women and family activities, and have volunteers on site. The year before Orlando, the 2028 Assembly will be held in Dallas at the Hilton Anatole, which means two consecutive assemblies will be held at locations where commissioners don’t have to leave the property for meetings, food, or hotel rooms.

“We are thankful to the Lord for the people of Central Florida Presbytery — their willingness to welcome us to Orlando again is a testament to their hospitality and hard work,” Nantz said.

Over the next four years, the General Assembly will be hosted in Kentucky, Wisconsin, Texas, and Florida. The process of site selection is complex, and the AC staff is already working on potential sites for 2030.
