Although the changes come in the form of brick and mortar, Anderson believes the real impact will ultimately be eternal. Being able to serve 150 more campers at any given time results in at least 1,500 more youth every summer who will have the opportunity to hear the Gospel in a fresh environment.

The foundation for trust in the Bible is its inspiration. A number of men over several centuries penned the words of Scripture, but the enduring constant is that God inspired every word.

A mission trip to the Middle East has the power to bring intractable regional conflicts to a personal level — with names, stories, and an unshakeable plea — “please pray for me.”

Since the videos were released, “it has been amazing to see how people have used them personally and corporately as they lead others in the local church,” Hodge says.

In seven years Morwood has had 15 dancers come through her Bible study, which provides a space where dancers push aside perfectionism and deal honestly with life’s struggles. They hold each other accountable and model humility to others by admitting mistakes and asking for forgiveness.

“I think the passing of Overture 43, and the fruit that will come of it, will be a help in recruiting African-American pastors into our denomination. It demonstrates to them that we are real, not trying to cover up sins of the past or present, but owning them and seeking to grow from them.”

Robertson describes how, through the “messy work of the Gospel,” God has taken a congregation from its racist past to aggressively becoming a multi-ethnic congregation.

“It was a response to the Gospel calling us to love our neighbors as ourselves,” Anderson explains. “The church wanted to bring a balance between word and deed ministry and create an appealing service opportunity for men.”

Because Colombia is predominately Catholic, Stephens was eager to see the women of Colombia spend three days under strong Reformed teaching on topics such as covenant theology, the church’s role in culture, and biblical sexuality.
