The church may sometimes unconsciously adopt the world’s definitions of success, says Covenant college president J. Derek Halvorson, things like a prestigious education, money, social status, or an impressive title. A better benchmark, Halvorson suggests, might be found in Genesis 5, the book of the generations of Adam. There we come across Enoch and the things he was noted for.
