The Covenant College Presidential Search Committee continues to narrow the pool of candidates in its search for the college’s next president. 

Over the summer executive search firm CarterBaldwin contacted dozens of potential candidates. Dick Bowser, chair of the search committee, said committee members were impressed with the initial response. “We were very encouraged by the number of people who applied and the deeply talented pool of people who applied, and that those candidates had such a passion to be joined to an organization that has the mission that Covenant College has,” he said.

The search committee has narrowed the pool to several candidates it will pursue further in the process, though the search committee won’t specify how many candidates or when it expects to announce a finalist. Bowser asked that PCA members continue to pray for the search. 

“Thank you for praying and please pray all the more until we know who the Lord has led to this particular work.”

In January 2023 Covenant College announced that Derek Halvorson would step aside from serving as president to lead the newly-formed Brock-Barnes Center for Leadership. Brad Voyles has served as Covenant College’s interim president since July 2023.
