Covenant College is inviting commissioners, exhibitors, and families who are attending the 52nd General Assembly for a cookout on campus. Located atop Lookout Mountain, the college will be hosting the special event on Wednesday, June 25, at 6:30 p.m. Registration is required, and there is no cost for children. Parking is available on campus, and free shuttles will transport visitors from the Chattanooga Convention Center.

Covenant is the PCA’s official college, and for more than 50 years, it has pursued its mission to explore and express the preeminence of Jesus Christ in all things. Covenant purchased the Lookout Mountain Hotel and moved into the hotel in 1964, now known as Carter Hall. Since then, the college has significantly developed the campus and cultivated important ties with the Chattanooga community. The campus is located less than eight miles from the convention center where the Assembly will conduct its business.

“We are honored and excited to have the PCA convening in Chattanooga,” says Brad Voyles, the college’s president. “As the PCA’s college, it seems only appropriate to invite the church to enjoy an evening on our campus for food and fun. Our denominational ties continue to grow stronger every year, and this is just a small way to express the mutual benefit we enjoy through our ecclesiastical relationship.”

Covenant College has seen increased enrollment over the last few years and anticipates welcoming one of its largest incoming classes ever in the fall. The college specializes in a liberal arts education from a Reformed Christian perspective.

Ralph Kelley serves as director of church relations for the college and notes, “A lot of our growth in recent years has come from families within the PCA. Churches and their members are discovering the high quality of education available at Covenant, all from professors who subscribe to Reformed doctrine. I’m excited for elders and their families to experience our campus and get a glimpse of the community available here.”

This summer will mark the third time Chattanooga has served as the host city for the PCA’s General Assembly. Each time, Covenant College has played a pivotal role in the worship, fellowship, and activities. The Assembly will convene June 23-27 in Chattanooga. Limited spots are available for Covenant’s cookout on campus. Due to high demand, once capacity is reached, registrants will be put on a waiting list and informed when spots become available.
