On March 11, 2015, Jim Bland announced that effective June 30, 2016, he would be retiring as Coordinator for Mission to North America (MNA). By that point, Bland will have served 18 years with MNA.

“Linda and I have concluded that it is time to transition to something else,” Bland said. “We do not yet know what that is, but it will of course include more time with children and grandchildren, as well as opportunities for ministry that we trust God will bring.”

Bland hopes that by announcing his retirement now, the General Assembly will be able to elect his replacement at the 44th Assembly in 2016.

We’ll have more on Bland’s career and retirement soon.

  1. Rod Culbertson says:

Jim Bland is one of the finest leaders the PCA has ever had. He brings love for God and family, passion for the gospel and evangelism, and integrity and Christ-likeness to his positions of service. His leadership in MNA will be missed.

  2. Lisa Hoffman says:

Rev. Bland and his wife Linda are wonderful, inspiring people. I was saved at Kendall Presbyterian Church in Miami, Florida in 1980. Jim was our pastor. We wish them the very best wherever God leads them.

  3. Chris & Jill Moore says:

Jim Bland married Jill & I in 1981 at Kendall Presbyterian in Miami. Linda set up my brother John and Kelly and then Jim married them as well. A great couple of the faith. May the Lord continue to bless.
