Your Guide to the 53rd General Assembly
By Staff
GA 2026

The PCA General Assembly gathers commissioners, exhibitors, visitors, and families from across the denomination and country to conduct essential business and further the church’s mission. The Assembly is also a time for fellowship — reconnecting with friends, meeting new people, and exploring a different city. Here are ways you can keep up with the denomination’s annual meeting.

The 53rd General Assembly will meet in Louisville at the Kentucky International Convention Center. The host committee has announced that the theme for the week will be “The Welcome of God,” featuring Romans 15:7 as the theme verse: “Therefore, welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.”

Schedule

The Assembly officially begins on Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. with the opening worship service and a short docket of business to follow. However, committees will meet Monday and Tuesday to prepare their reports and recommendations for the General Assembly. The business will continue all day Wednesday and Thursday, concluding either at the end of the day on Thursday or Friday morning.

You can view the current docket and full schedule of activities.

Seminars

For those attending the Assembly onsite, there will be 40 seminars offered on Tuesday. They are free to attend. The full schedule is available here.

Livestream

For those who cannot attend in person, the Assembly proceedings will be available to stream online. You can watch everything from opening worship services through adjournment. If the Assembly is convened, it will be available to watch on livestream.

Local Visitor’s Guide

We asked members of the General Assembly Host Committee for recommendations on restaurants near the Convention Center. Here are some of their personal favorites. Reservations recommended for most of the restaurants listed.

The Brown Hotel – Home of Louisville’s signature dish, the Hot Brown, the most beautiful interior in town, and great food. One committee member called this his “go to for first-time visitors.”

Vincenzo’s – Two blocks west of the convention center, Louisville’s classic fine northern Italian dining.

Swizzle – This rooftop spot at Galt House with dual revolving sections has interesting views upriver and beautiful sunsets downriver.

Buck’s – In Old Louisville, south of downtown, about a 10-minute drive from the convention center, has a diverse, excellent menu. The restaurant presents flowers to the ladies during the evening.

La Bodeguita – In NuLu on East Market. Great Cuban food. It’s a short drive from the convention center, but parking is costly. And for dessert, don’t miss Louisville Cream across East Market Street!

Parlour Pizza – Great pizza across 2nd Street from the convention center. Should be relatively quick service.

Luigi’s Pizzeria – 712 West Main is a bit of a hike for lunch, but worth it.
