Recommending Overtures 23 and 37

Whatever our views on Overtures 23 and 37, whatever our disagreements, it’s important to maintain high standards of interaction.

The overtures reflect a mistaken conception of our polity.

Once we confess our utter need of God, his ultimate love for us is sure.

byFaith is providing a closer look at the Johnson decision, hoping to reveal how (and why) SJC procedures have been applied in this case.

God loves my children more than I do. He fulfills their hearts’ desires by engaging them in his designs.

But grace would not be grace if it freed us from sin’s guilt and sent us into sin’s harm.

We lead for Christ most clearly and most effectively when we follow Christ in the selflessness he modeled for us.

I’d like to put in a good word for religion — if not three cheers, then at least two.

Our fearlessness shows confidences in God’s eternal care to people across town and across generations.

We are precious to God regardless of our performance. That’s why we desire to serve him with devotion that is deaf to any other evaluation.
