New Podcast on Covenant Theology

What Christians Believe Podcast

ByFaith is launching a new season of its “What Christians Believe” podcast, focusing on covenant theology. The podcast premiered last year with a season examining the Nicene Creed

Francis Turretin once wrote that since the covenant “is of the greatest importance in theology (being as it were the center and bond of all religion, consisting in the communion of God with man and embracing in its compass all the benefits of God towards man and his duties towards God), our highest interest lies in rightly knowing and observing it.”

Each episode of this series examines a different covenant in Scripture to understand how God relates to his people and unfolds his purposes in human history.

The podcast is hosted by Derek Rishmawy, campus minister for Reformed University Fellowship at the University of California, Irvine. In addition to his campus ministry, Rishmawy, who holds a doctorate from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, is a fellow with the Keller Center for Cultural Apologetics, and co-host of the “Mere Fidelity” podcast.

Each episode of the series will feature a discussion with a theologian focusing on a particular aspect of covenant theology. The episodes and featured guests are as follows:

  • Ligon Duncan on the heart of covenant theology and why it matters
  • Scott Swain on the Covenant of Works
  • Scott Redd on the Noahic Covenant
  • Sean Michael Lucas on the Abrahamic Covenant
  • Drew Martin on the Mosaic Covenant
  • Ligon Duncan on the Davidic Covenant
  • David Strain on the New Covenant
  • Scott Swain on the Covenant of Redemption
  • Kevin DeYoung on Covenant, the Church, and Israel
  • Adriel Sanchez on Covenant, the Sacraments, and Infant Baptism

The first episode launches this month and will be available in audio and video formats. You can access the podcasts on your streaming platforms, and the videos will also be available on byFaith’s YouTube channel.
