Esther S. Fiol: 1912 – 2012

Esther Storey Fiol, 99, of Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community, having fought the good fight, kept the faith and finished the race was welcomed home by the Savior she loved so deeply and served so well on July 30, 2012.

Born in Rochester, Minnesota, November 22, 1912 to George and Ethel Storey, Esther grew up on a dairy farm, graduated valedictorian from Washington, IL, High School in 1930 and then made her way to Wheaton College, in Wheaton, IL, graduating in 1934 with a major in chemistry. It was in her college years during evangelistic meetings that she responded to the prompting of the Holy Spirit and realized she had never repented of her sins and accepted God’s free gift of eternal life through His Son, Christ Jesus.

With her husband, Frank who preceded her in death in 1999, she served for 44 years as a missionary in north India. She was a beloved children’s and young people’s Bible teacher, friend and encourager whose life touched many.
