The Past, Present, and Future Trends of Church Planting
Tuesday, June 29, at 2:30 p.m.
Robert Kim and Philip Douglass, Covenant Theological Seminary

In a changing world, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever,” and He has been faithfully building His church in the PCA since its beginning. This seminar will look at trends from the past and present as it looks to the future of church planting in the PCA. It draws on the wisdom of Phil Douglass, who, in his 32 years of teaching, has watched Covenant Seminary grads plant some 280 PCA churches. The seminar will also touch on leadership and succession trends.

Helping Couples Flourish: A Seminar for Couples, Pastors, Counselors, and Teachers
Tuesday, June 29 at 2:30 p.m.
Dan Zink, Covenant Theological Seminary

Marriage counseling is a regular component of ministry practice. What goals should you have for your marriage and the marriages of the people you help? Where should couples be headed relationally? And to get there, what anchors can they hold on to amid life’s storms?

Evangelism In A Culture of Identity Crisis  (An Evangelism Model that Engages the Questions of The Heart)
Tuesday, June 29, at 3:35 p.m.
Kevin Thumpston, Watershed PCA and South Carolina Church Planting

As Christians, we are called to love our neighbors as ourselves and to give the reason for the hope that is within us. Most of us believe this, but it’s hard. Our culture’s identity crisis makes sharing the gospel more complex than it used to be. Instead of trying to “sell” our friends what we believe, we ought to let the questions of their hearts lead the conversation.

Above Reproach, Self-controlled, and Holy, or the Moral and Spiritual Qualifications for Ordinands: Exegetical and Ethical Notes
Wednesday, June 30, at 8:00 a.m.
Dan Doriani, Covenant Theological Seminary

This seminar looks at 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and draws on 1 Timothy 4:12-16 to describe the Spirit-empowered godliness that allows pastors to qualify for and remain in ministry, even as they repent of sin, seek grace, and aim to progress in holiness. This seminar includes observations on the concept of capital or deadly vices; current moral issues in the PCA; and our tendency to focus on family and sex when assessing moral qualifications to the neglect of other vital issues.

Only the lonely: The pastor’s pandemic
Wedneday, June 30, at 8:00 a.m.
David Wilson, Bent Tree

Panel discussion with PCA teaching elders and their wives sharing stories of loneliness in ministry and giving strategies for hope.

Grace Abounds! A Biblical Response to CRT & the 1619 Project
Tuesday, June 29, at 2:30 p.m.
Brett Barbee, Strong Tower Fellowship

As voices for division clamor, how is the church to respond? Even as we’re inundated by narratives that focus on the sins of humanity, how can the church be refreshed in redemptive history, weighing worldly philosophies against Christ’s triumph over sin.
