This year’s General Assembly in St. Louis will include a variety of opportunities and activities for the families of GA commissioners. Included below are the highlights:

Opportunities for Women

Wednesday, June 30

  • 11 am – 1 pm — Women’s Fellowship Lunch, “Partners in the Gospel,” with speaker Megan Hill, and musician Sherdonna Denholm

The St. Louis Host Committee, along with the Committee on Discipleship Ministries, has planned a casual lunch with a time of worship with local musician and worship leader, Sherdonna Denholm, and words of encouragement from speaker and author Megan Hill.

  • 1:30 – 3:30 pm — An Afternoon Garden Stroll at the Missouri Botanical Garden

A small tour is planned of the beautiful Missouri Botanical Garden. The Garden was founded in 1859 by Henry Shaw, and today it is a National Historic Landmark and a center for science, conservation, education, and horticulture. Admission is $20.

Thursday, July 1

  • 10 am – 12 pm — Walk to the Arch Grounds

This free tour will start at the entrance to the America’s Center and then proceed to the Arch grounds. The free museum celebrates America’s pioneering spirit and explains the westward expansion of the United States.

  • 11 am – 3 pm — Tour of St. Louis Art Museum and Outdoor Lunch on Art Hill

Ladies are invited on a tour of the Saint Louis Art Museum which hosts a world-class and varied collection of original works of art and artifacts, spanning five millennia and six continents.

  • 2 – 3:30 pm – “A Cold Cup of Water”

Stop by the women’s hospitality suite for a casual time of refreshment and reconnecting with other weary women in leadership. A little oasis planned just for you with chilled water bottles, chocolate, door prizes (awarded at 3:00 pm) and other fun surprises.

Opportunities for Children (Kindergarten – 5th Grade)

Wednesday, June 30 – Thursday, July 1

  • 8:30 am – 3:30 pm — Camp Westminster

Children, kindergarten through 5th grade, are invited to two days at Camp Westminster, which seeks to teach young ones about the Lord through games, crafts, and interactive stories. The camp is located and operated by Westminster Christian Academy (a Christian college preparatory school in St. Louis).

Opportunities for Youth

Wednesday, June 30 – Thursday, July 1

  • 8:30 am – 3:30 pm — Restore St. Louis Service + St. Louis City Museum (June 30th) and the St. Louis Zoo (July 1)

Youth in 6th to 12th grades are encouraged to participate in a two-day service opportunity with Restore Saint Louis, an organization that seeks to manifest God’s love in the city of St. Louis to widows, immigrants, refugees, and the poor. After lunch on Wednesday, youth will visit the City Museum, an old warehouse which artists have repurposed with giant slides, secret tunnels, and crazy obstacles. On Thursday, youth will visit the St. Louis Zoo.
