A New Way to Worship: 2Cities Church Serves Downtown Montgomery

The floor-to-ceiling plate-glass windows at 2Cities Church offer views of down­town landmarks, including the federal courthouse and Troy University Montgomery. They’re a constant, visual re­minder of the church’s purpose and its foundation.

That’s because this church was founded downtown — just a little over a year ago — and it works to draw congregants from that immediate area. Its ministers live downtown, and its outreach ministries are downtown focused.

2Cities Church is a daughter church plant of Young Mead­ows Presbyterian, which helps support 2Cities as it grows. And while 2Cities provides a way to grow the influence of the Presbyterian Church in America in the city, it’s fulfill­ing other needs too, said the pastor, the Rev. Brian Mac­Donald.
