For the fifth time in the PCA’s history, the General Assembly is headed to the Big D: Dallas, Texas. The 55th Assembly will take place June 26-30, 2028, at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas.
Dallas last hosted the General Assembly in 2019, and at the time it was the PCA’s largest-ever Assembly. Angela Nantz, the PCA Administrative Committee’s event coordinator, said the AC expects the 2028 Assembly will likewise be well attended, and holding GA at the Hilton Anatole means that lodging and meeting spaces will be under the same roof.
“As we pray and look for cities and spaces to host General Assembly, Dallas as a city and the Hilton Anatole as a property are both well suited to our needs,” Nantz said. “While we want to try new places and showcase the breadth of the PCA, we are also comforted by returning to familiar spaces. The Hilton Anatole offers the increasingly limited opportunity to be almost entirely under one roof, something General Assembly attendees have repeatedly requested.”
The AC estimates that as many as 4,500 people attend each Assembly, including commissioners, visitors, families, and exhibitors. Each year Nantz and her team must find a facility that can accommodate gathering space and lodging needs for the Assembly while being conscious of budget concerns for commissioners and churches.
Hosting the General Assembly also requires on-site support from the hosting presbytery. North Texas Presbytery must plan and execute the worship services, plan women and family activities, and have volunteers on site. These hosting responsibilities require the presbytery to raise as much as $150,000 and gather 250-300 volunteers for the week.
“We are also thankful to the Lord for the people of North Texas Presbytery – their willingness to welcome us to Dallas again is a testament to their hospitality and hard work,” Nantz said.
In 2026 the General Assembly will gather in Louisville, Kentucky. The 2027 Assembly will take place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
