Serving to the Bounds God Has Given Us

The subject of women’s roles in the church is near and dear to Mary Beth McGreevy’s heart. McGreevy grew up in a family that didn’t study the Bible and as a child she attended church where women were routinely ordained to the pastorate. But once she started reading the Bible, she says, it was clear that male headship in the family and the church was the pattern God established for our flourishing in a post-fall world.

She and her husband joined the PCA in 1997, where leaders embraced her gifts and talents. Even so, she says, we too often we focus on what women can’t do. When we ask about what women can do, the answer is “Almost everything!”
