Professor Samuel Hsu, Dead at 64

Dr. Samuel Hsu passed away suddenly Friday, Dec. 2, 2011. He was 64.

He was the Distinguished Professor of Music at the Philadelphia Biblical University.

Dr. Hsu begun his music studies at the Shanghai National Conservatory of Music, and in his teens, appeared as a piano soloist with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.

Dr. Hsu graduated in May 1969 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Bible and a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Philadelphia Biblical University. He also studied piano with Rosina Lhévinne and Martin Canin at The Juilliard School, and received a Ph.D. in Historical Musicology from University of California, Santa Barbara.(To continue reading, please click here.)
