PCA Offering First-Ever Finance Seminar for Women
By

The PCA’s Retirement and Benefits, Inc. (RBI) and Christian Education and Publications (CEP) are joining together to offer a financial planning seminar for wives of teaching and ruling elders. The seminar will take place on June 18th, during the 41st General Assembly in Greenville.

“One of the greatest gifts you and your spouse can give each other and your family is a plan for your financial security,” says Bob Clarke, Relief Director for RBI.  And the role of wives in this important matter cannot be overstated.

“Most wives will be responsible for their family finances at some time in our lives,” says Jane Patete, PCA Women’s Ministry Coordinator. “In order to be good stewards of what the Lord has provided,” she says, “we need to begin acquiring appropriate resources to handle this responsibility well.”

Organizers hope that seminar participants will hear the importance of, and how to have potentially difficult conversations about what happens when a spouse is unable to assist with finances due to a disabling condition or death. Attendees will receive resources for wise financial planning, and be encouraged by the testimonies of women who are gaining financial confidence.

Childcare will be provided for the seminar. Those interested in attending are also asked to complete a survey to help organizers best address the needs of participants.
