The Overtures Committee voted to affirm an amended version of Overture 45. The overture will now go to the General Assembly for final approval.

The amended overture authorizes the General Assembly Moderator to appoint a Racial and Ethnic Reconciliation Study Committee. The overture also includes language to urge individual presbyteries and sessions to create their own study committees to consider how to make progress toward racial reconciliation in local contexts.
