Ridge Haven will host a new camp June 9-14 during the 2014 summer schedule: Trail Life Summer Adventure Camp. The five-night/six-day camp is designed for troops from Trail Life USA, a Christian scouting organization for boys that was formed this year as an alternative to the Boy Scouts

Trail Life troops will enjoy a week of camping and hiking on Ridge Haven’s 775-acre campus in Brevard, N.C., plus numerous activities such as archery, scaling the camp’s climbing tower, braving a giant swing, and slipping their way down a 100-foot water slide. There will also be daily worship times and group competitions.

In addition, Trail Life campers will experience Ridge Haven’s newly upgraded Lake Morse, which was expanded in time for the camp season’s start. The lake is now 30 percent bigger and features five new docks.

The camp’s featured speaker will be Randy Beach, one of Ridge Haven’s most popular camp speakers. Randy and his wife, Cheryl, are Covenant College graduates who have worked in youth and college ministry for more than 25 years. An elder in the PCA, Randy has also worked in law enforcement for more than three decades in uniform, violent crime, narcotics, and undercover assignments.
