RUF Students Find Project, Purpose During School Holiday

Killing time on a 12-hour van ride, the college students talked about what else they might have done for spring break.

They could have spent the time lying on a beach, perhaps, or maybe gone skiing.

If nothing else, they could have just slept in everyday and hung out with friends.

“But it all gets boring after a couple of days,” everyone agreed.

Instead, 17 students from the University of Tulsa drove to Chicago, where they will spend the week sleeping on a gymnasium floor and tearing down a vacant motel on the city’s notorious South Side.

“It’s something none of us will ever forget doing,” says the Rev. Brent Corbin from TU’s Reformed University Fellowship.
