Retreat Focused on Connecting Youth Workers
By

The 2009 Barnabas Connection, a retreat for youth pastors and youth workers, will be held March 30–April 2, 2009 at Ridge Haven Conference and Retreat Center in Brevard, N.C.

At the Barnabas Connection, pastors and youth workers will gather together for connection, refreshment, and Reformed teaching. The retreat provides a unique opportunity for those within the PCA who have a burden for junior high and high school students to connect with others who have a similar heart. While the retreat is led by PCA youth pastors, it is open to anyone who would like to attend.

This year’s speaker is Tim Tinsley. Tinsley has more than a decade of experience working in youth ministry. He is currently the pastor of evangelism at Park Cities Presbyterian Church in Dallas, Texas.

Derrick Harris will serve as worship leader at the retreat. Harris plays music around the U.S. and has three nationally distributed CDs. He is the director of student ministries at McLean Presbyterian Church near Washington D.C.

In addition to quality teaching and worship time, the Barnabas Connection will offer optional structured forums for discussion focusing on key issues of interest to those working in youth ministry.
