Up De Graff Resigns from Ridge Haven

Mo Up De Graff resigned as the CEO and executive director of Ridge Haven, the conference and retreat center of the PCA.

“Mo has been the CEO and executive director of Ridge Haven for the past 15 years,” said Kim Connor, president of the board of directors for Ridge Haven. “He is ‘Mr. Ridge Haven’ to many. … He is an excellent example of how one’s faith should affect [his] walk.”

Connor says the Ridge Haven board of directors will be looking for a replacement who is both spiritually strong and who has “a sense of business.”

“In other words, one who can see market trends and capitalize on them,” says Connor, “while being a good steward of what the Lord has given us.”

He also hopes that the new executive director will help Ridge Haven become more visible in the denomination and reach more people.

“We are the best kept secret in the PCA,” he says. “We need to change that. … Ridge Haven must increase utilization of our unique resources (the property and facilities) and the biblical truths we hold dear (the Reformed faith, being one of very few Christian camp and conference centers that hold to and teach these doctrines). The new executive director, working with the board of directors and a staff that has the same love and loyalty as Mo for Ridge Haven, must face this to be successful.”

Mo, we will really miss seeing you when we next visit Ridge Haven. I have looked forward many times to seeing you there. I have trouble thinking of Ridge Haven without thinking of you. Mo and Ridge Haven just go together. We pray that God will continue to bless you in whatever you are doing. You will continue to have our love.

Mo,

Thanks for your leadership with picking qualified, spiritually-mature counselors. Whatever else is changed, I hope the guy who comes after you keeps this practice in place. I'm proud of your leadership in that area.

Mo, your godly demeanor and spirit has been a blessing to many for a great number of years now. I praise God for the manner in which our lives have been enriched by the Christ-like love that was so evident in all that you did. Your leadership at Ridge Haven will be missed, and I know that God is not through with you yet. I look forward to seeing what God has in store for you. God bless.

Mo, we are going to miss you, your friendliness, your spiritual focus, and your sense of humor. I'll have to let our friends here at Seacrest PC in Delray Beach and my brother and sister-in-law (Lane & Gerry)know about your decision.
Rooted in Jesus, Rooted in Love,

Mo, Not having been at Ridgehaven much over the past 10 years, I've missed seeing all of the changes. However, the years with RUF and our retreats there under your leadership were absolutely wonderful!! I know ALL who work there, and ALL who visit will certainly miss you as I will when I return for yet more visits!

I pray God's speed in your next adventure led by Him!! He is teaching me that we never retire! Merely, we change job descriptions until He uses us up and takes us home to Himself! PTL

Mo, from the first time Martha and I visited you have been our friend, neighbor, my prayer partner and praise the Lord none of these are going to change. You and Janie have been so special to the Crabbes, you took us in when we needed shelter in our move and gave us Janie bread for our hunger and really showed us the loving kindness of the Lord. We love the Up De Graffs and look forward to volunteering at Ridge Haven with you in the years to come.

It's hard to believe we have been here at Ridgehaven 12 years! During all those years both you and Janie have been such godly examples of servants of Christ, from cleaning toilets, painting, dining hall duties, splitting logs, to leading conferences, and traveling all over the country to speak on behalf of Ridgehaven. And we know why! Because you love God and He has given you a love for the work He is doing here at Ridgehaven.
You have heard firsthand of countless lives changed and seen the faces of children as they come to understand the gospel message.
This community has needed a godly leader and pastor and you have been that for us.
Glad you will not be far! (And so is Steve!) love you guys!
