Pre-Assembly Conference Focuses on John Calvin

Those attending the 37th PCA General Assembly this year may want to consider coming to Orlando, Fla. a day early for the pre-assembly conference, “A Taste of Calvin 500.” Sponsored by Reformed Theological Seminary (RTS) in cooperation with Calvin 500, “A Taste of Calvin 500” is a celebration of the life of John Calvin and offers a sample of teaching from this summer’s Calvin 500 Conference and Commemorative Tour which culminates in Geneva, Switzerland in July.

2009 marks the 500th anniversary of the birth of John Calvin, making it an ideal time to hold a conference that takes a closer look at the legacy of the historic Reformer.

The conference begins Monday afternoon June 15 and ends Tuesday morning June 16, 2009. General Assembly begins the evening of the 16th. The pre-conference will be held primarily at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort and Conference Center in Orlando, Fla., the same location as General Assembly. Monday dinner and Monday evening’s session will be held on the nearby campus of RTS Orlando. A bus will carry participants between the hotel and the seminary.

“A Taste of Calvin 500” will include dialog, question/answer times, and worship, in addition to quality teaching from speakers who are a part of the Calvin 500 Conference. A list of conference speakers can be found at www.atasteofCalvin500.org.

Conference registration is $40.00 if participants register by May 15, 2009. To register for “A Taste of Calvin 500,” visit www.atasteofCalvin500.org.  For more information on the full Calvin 500 Conference and Commemorative Tour, go to www.Calvin500.org.
