MTW Mosquito Net Project: Kids Helping Kids
Did you know that malaria is the number one killer of children worldwide? Or that $6 could save a child’s life? Malaria prevention is simple and inexpensive by Western standards. Insecticide-treated sleeping nets can be provided for approximately $6 each and are large enough to accommodate numerous children, sometimes whole families.
The 2007 Mission to the World (MTW) Children’s Mission Project is funding a mosquito net campaign that has been successful over the last four years, reaching as many as 10,000 children in 19 villages in South Asia to date. Each year, the Children’s Mission Project invites children to raise money for a specific missions need.

“This project is an important way to encourage children to be a part of God’s mission throughout the world at a young age,” said Dr. Ted Kuhn, director of MTW’s Medical Department. “They can see that their contributions do make a difference. It really becomes a gift from kids to kids.”
In the 2007 MTW Children’s Project video, Come With Me to Sapla’s House, children will learn about the lives of families in a remote Bangladesh village – lives that are like their own in many ways, but very different in access to medical care and exposure to the gospel. They will learn that the nets offer physical protection in much the same way that Jesus offers spiritual protection to His children.
The project is suitable for Sunday schools, backyard Bible clubs, Christian schools, and missions conferences, as well as for VBS.
Churches and individuals may order a free video for kids that explains the 2007 MTW Children’s Mission Project by emailing info@mtw.org.
