MNA Church Planting Training Goes Beyond the PCA

The PCA’s Mission to North America (MNA), along with Global Church Advancement (GCA), will host the 2008 North America Church Planting and Renewal Seminar, July 21-25, in Orlando, Fla.

“Church planters work in a challenging context, so they need lots of training,” said Ted Powers, MNA’s coordinator of Church Planting. “They’re able to receive teaching at this seminar and then go back and apply it in their local context.”

Some 500 to 600 people attend MNA’s church planting seminars each year. And those attendees represent 25 to 30 denominations beyond the PCA, and a number of countries around the world.

“Our goal is to offer high-quality training for church planters, regardless of their denomination,” said Powers. “Over time, this has become a crossroads event where people from all over intersect and come together to share their stories.”

The 2008 North America Church Planting and Renewal Seminar, to be held at Reformed Theological Seminary (RTS)/Orlando, will include training for church planters and their wives and launch teams, as well as pastors of established churches.

“This conference is a great place to come for church renewal, to jumpstart your ministry and receive ongoing coaching,” said Powers. “We want to provide the training and tools to start, grow, and multiply healthy, gospel-centered churches that result in the spiritual, social, and cultural transformation of entire cities and regions.”
