General Assembly Programs for Women and Children Now Open for Registration

John Newton, famous for “Amazing Grace,” wrote yet another hymn, slathered in rich gospel doctrine. In 1774, “Let us Love and Sing and Wonder” came from the pen of this once slave trader, now himself freed by Christ. This hymn inspired this year’s theme for General Assembly: Love, Sing, Wonder.

The Nashville Presbytery Host Committee in conjunction Christian Education and Publications and the Women’s Advisory Sub-Committee have programs planned for women and children during the week of General Assembly, June 29 – July 2, 2010. The women will have the opportunity to enjoy fellowship and crafts in our hospitality room and to participate in a variety of area tours, such as tours of the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Historic Ryman Auditorium, and Carnton Plantation (made famous by the novel, The Widow of the South by Robert Hicks). A mercy ministry tour is also planned. Additionally, special programs and seminars have been designed to edify and encourage women throughout the week..

A children’s program is offered for those four months old to graduating seniors in high school. The nursery will be open for children four month of age through kindergarteners. Children’s programs will be available for first through fifth graders, and a youth program for rising sixth graders through to high school seniors who have just graduated. The children and youth will have their own tours, service projects, and a field day with local athletes, games, and a concert.

Registration forms for the women’s and children’s programs are available online at www.pcaga.org. Click on Family Info Pages.
