Dwight Linton Passes Away at 82
Thomas Dwight Linton, a former PCA missionary to Korea, died from injuries he sustained in a three-car crash Monday afternoon near Anderson S.C. He was 82.
Linton had been traveling to his home in Rock Hill, S.C. after attending the funeral of Bob Sweet, who died Friday.
Linton was born and raised in Korea, the son of Presbyterian missionaries. In 1952 he returned with his wife Margie; they ministered there for the next 25 years. From 1973-1978 Linton worked with the Honam Theological University and Seminary.
Throughout the 1980s, back in the United States, Linton served with Mission to North America and Christian Education & Publications working to advance the denomination's work in ethnic ministries/church development.
He was a grandchild of Eugene Bell (1868-1925), a Presbyterian missionary who arrived in Korea in 1895. One hundred years later, the Eugene Bell Foundation was established to provide medical and developmental assistance to North Korea.
A memorial service is scheduled for Monday January 18 at 10 A.M. at Chestnut Mountain Presbyterian Church in Chestnut Mountain, Ga. For more information contact the church: 770-967-3440.
