Covenant Seminary Expands Online Initiative
Covenant Theological Seminary (CTS) recently reaffirmed its commitment to provide high quality, Reformed theological education and related resources for the church and the world through an expanded online ministry initiative that launched September 30, 2008.
Building on its highly successful approach of offering in-depth, on-campus training for pastors and other ministry leaders, as well as free online access to a variety of foundational seminary courses for believers everywhere, the seminary’s new initiative consists of three closely related Web-based ministries:
Worldwide Classroom
Formerly known as Covenant Worldwide, this popular ministry offers users anywhere in the world free access to audio lectures and related print transcripts and study guides for more than 20 of Covenant Seminary’s master’s-level seminary courses. These are the same courses, taught by the same professors, that on-campus students take. Pastors, church leaders, Bible study groups, and individual learners are welcome to download and use the materials free of charge for non-commercial purposes. The courses are also available via Podcast and iTunes U. Visit the site at www.worldwide-classroom.com to find out more.
Covenant Seminary’s Redesigned and Enhanced Web Site
A major ministry tool in its own right, the seminary’s web site is fast becoming a primary conduit for attracting and recruiting new students from around the world and for maintaining contact with them both during and after their seminary experience. The newly redesigned site offers a number of new or enhanced features, including easy-to-follow instructions for applying to seminary, a host of stories and photos to get users acquainted with the seminary community, and an expanded section highlighting the academic and ministry achievements of the seminary’s faculty. Visit the site at www.covenantseminary.edu for more details.
Living Christ 360 with Dr. Bryan Chapell
Every day, Living Christ 360 features the Bible teaching of CTS president Dr. Bryan Chapell. The site also offers daily devotional thoughts, special offers of books and other materials, and direct access to a searchable archive of hundreds of audio and print resources designed to encourage Christ-centered living for every degree of life. The daily broadcast is also available via Podcast. Visit the site at www.livingchrist360.com to find out more.
Stacey Fitzgerald, vice president of media and organizational development for the Seminary, commented, “Developing these sites to meet the needs of the worldwide church has been a true blessing for us. It is very exciting to think that anyone from anywhere in the world can access these wonderful equipping tools. We are eager to see how the Lord will use these resources to strengthen and expand his Kingdom.”
Dr. Bryan Chapell, president of Covenant Seminary, noted, “In recent years, God has seen fit to shower his grace on Covenant Seminary in ways we could never have imagined or predicted. We are immensely grateful for his blessings and humbly desire to share with others from the abundance he has given us. Our passion is to equip God’s saints for ministry and for life, and we pray that through this initiative we will also learn from others so that we will be filled with fullness of the gospel for the glory of the Lord.”
