Covenant College Strengthens Connections with Churches
Recent revisions to Covenant College’s Church Scholarship Promise program will provide scholarships for students whose churches contribute regularly to the Covenant Fund.
A grant representing 12.8 percent of full-time tuition (roughly $3,250) will be awarded to all students from any church that contributes a minimum of $10 per communicant member to the Covenant Fund, an annual fund that supports student scholarships, faculty salaries, student programs, and operational costs. The scholarship amount increases based on the church’s level of giving.
“What makes Covenant unique among Christian higher education is our relationship with churches in the PCA,” said Matthew Bryant, director of church relations and admissions at Covenant College. “The more churches invest in what we’re doing, the more they have ownership and the more they’re affirming that they believe in what we’re doing missionally.”
Covenant also offers a 50 percent discount on tuition for all dependents of teaching elders in churches that participate in the Church Scholarship Promise for five or more years. “This is a great way churches can show support for their pastors,” Bryant said.
Additionally, students from partner churches are eligible to apply for Covenant’s Church Involvement Scholarship, valued at $10,500. Financial aid is also available for children of teaching elders.
