CMI Curriculum Helps Children Find Meaning in Holidays

Ever wondered how to squeeze meaning out of the holidays that mark the calendar?

“There are great biblical truths to be found in each of these days,” said Brad Winsted, director of Children’s Ministry International (CMI). “How should we truly honor our parents? Where does our true freedom lie? How should we labor unto God rather than man? All of these special days pose these issues.”

Children’s Ministry International, known for providing on-site children’s programming at Mission to the World conferences for the past 25 years, has created a biblically-based “Holiday Series” curriculum to address these questions. The most recent installment of the series, released this summer, covers Columbus Day, Reformation Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

CMI has also been instrumental in translating and disseminating Reformed catechetical materials for children into Spanish, Swedish, Bulgarian, Russian, Czech, Tagalog (Filipino language), and Turkish.

“When MTW missionaries see how much their children learn in a week they often want the materials translated in their own language,” said Winsted. “Through MTW missionaries CMI has provided the only Reformed catechetical materials available to children in many countries.”
