Brock Hall Opens at Covenant College
Last week Covenant College announced two new additions to its campus—a new academic building, Brock Hall, and the newest portion of the campus green, the Dottie Brock Gardens. These additions honor former Covenant College president and current Covenant College Foundation president, Dr. Frank Brock, and his wife, Dottie Brock.
“Dr. Brock’s legacy spans far beyond the many landmark successes of his presidency,” said Dr. Niel Nielson, president of Covenant College. “It is marked most definitively by his heartfelt love for students and the mission of Covenant. It is our prayer that Brock Hall will mirror his commitment and his zeal for the cause of taking every thought and action captive to Christ.”
Brock Hall, which is one piece of Covenant’s current BUILD campaign, was completed in May and now functions as a central part of the academic program. It features 24,000 square feet on three floors, and includes classrooms, a lecture hall, faculty offices, a faculty lounge, and indoor and outdoor commons.
The Dottie Brock Gardens now stretch between Brock Hall and Carter Hall, reflecting Dottie Brock’s attention to landscaping during her husband’s tenure as president.
“Whether it was preparing care packages for students or weeding the flower beds in front of Carter Hall, Mrs. Brock led by serving,” said Dr. Nielson. “It is our prayer that the Dottie Brock Gardens will be a place where students will learn to live with the same loving care and selfless service that has been a mark of Dottie’s life.”

I want to say a hearty "Amen and Amen" to what Josh Good said about Dottie and Frank Brock. My husband and I are both Covenant graduates and knew Frank and Dottie when we were there in the early 1970's. Both of our children, Dan and Heather, have been blessed greatly by the friendship of Dottie and Frank during their time at Covenant. The Brock children Crew, Peg, Marshall, their spouses, and the Brock grandchildren have also been a huge blessing to our family. Our whole family has been blessed beyond measure from having known the Brock family and learned from their example. I am truly thankful that the new building and gardens has been named in their honor

I could not be happier about this building being named after President Brock. I was honored to get to plan the groundbreaking ceremony for this building and others from the BUILD Campaign. I have not gotten to see the finished products in person yet, and I can't wait until life takes me back to the mountain for a visit. I know all the work that went into making these buildings a reality and how much the college needed them. Praise the Lord for his provision for Covenant College!
