Ben Phillips,  associate pastor at Chestnut Mountain Presbyterian Church, reports that Mary Smartt, wife of Kennedy Smartt, went to be with the Lord May 21 at around 9:30 am. “We rejoice with Kennedy and his family that Mary is in the presence of her Savior,” Phillips wrote. “Please pray for God’s comfort and strength for them in the days ahead.”

There will be a Memorial Service to give thanks to God for her life on May 31 at 11am at Chestnut Mountain Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends from 10-11 prior to the service.

Praying for all the Smartts as Mary has left us for a better place. I think of this song for her

We grieve with all the Smartts as they say good bye to Mary, our beloved friend. We know she is in a better place and is free from all pain and worry. God bless.

We’ll miss Mary and her prayers. She was a great prayer warrior.
