Rev. Jack Jagoditsch, senior pastor for over 25 years at Lakemont Presbyterian Church in Augusta, Ga., has died. He passed away on October 17 after a four-year battle with cancer. He was 64. Lakemont Ruling Elder Bill Hatcher called Jagoditsch a “true Christian gentleman who will be missed by all his friends.”

Prior to attending Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Miss., Jagoditsch served on staff with Young Life for 12 years. He served as assistant pastor for two churches in Florida before coming to Lakemont in 1986.

Surviving Jagoditsch is his wife of 41 years, Fran, along with three children, two grandchildren, a brother, and his mother. Lakemont will host a prayer and praise service on Wednesday, October 19, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., and First Presbyterian Church of Augusta will hold a memorial service for Jagoditsch on October 20. The time of the memorial service has not yet been determined.
