Covenant College Faculty Members Edit and Author Booklet Series
By

On July 9, 2014, P&R Publishing released the first four booklets in a series on faithful learning. Edited by Dr. Jay Green, Covenant College history professor, the “Faithful Learning” series explores various academic disciplines from a Christian perspective. In addition to providing insight on how Christianity shapes scholarship, the booklets ask readers to think about how work in the academic field can help form their faith.

“Traditionally we think of how our faith informs our work as scholars,” said Green. “In this case, rather than merely being concerned with a Christian theory of the disciplines, we’re asking: ‘How does our faithful attendance to the academic disciplines shape our understanding of faith?’”

“We can engage these disciplines with confidence,” said Green. “And in doing so, I believe we can come to a better understanding of what it means to love God and to love our neighbor.”
